First Ladies was asked to document the final workshop of a series of workshops that brought together participants of the Waterway Management Twinning Program. The finished video shares the stories and experiences of the 2016 graduates of the program.

What is?

The Waterway Management Twinning Program is a mentoring program that pairs professionals involved in river health protection. People come across Australia to share their experience and knowledge and apply that to help each other on specific projects. In 2015/16 there have been 11 people involved in the program from 5 organisations. Throughout the program there have been three whole-of-group sessions where all participants have come together to learn and gain professional development on a range of issues, facilitated by Australian River Restoration Centre director Siwan Lovett. A particular focus of the program has been on the Merri River through Warrnambool, and an exciting new river restoration project has been planned, using ideas and learnings from every participating organisation.
