Percy the Perch

Nothing like a cool costume to catch your attention!

I worked with Lucy Cameron from Glenelg Hopkins CMA to produce this short Pozible Campaign video. And, it worked; the GHCMA raised the funds (and awareness) they needed.

All credit for the costume and script goes to the very creative Lucy Cameron who may have lost her calling as a comedy writer.

The money raised through the FundsforFish campaign goes towards returning some much needed fish habitat into the Merri River in Warrnambool. The river is devoid of snags and so the GHCMA plans to put fish-hotels into the river. These wooden structures provide homes for the perch, which are estuary fish. The perch use the wooden habitat to lay in wait for their food source to float by, and then they strike. Without wooden snags in the rivers, the perch have nowhere to hide. The hope is the numbers of estuary perch will increase with the structures and the overall health of the river will approve.

Warrnambool P.S gets Strategic with a video

Part of Warrnambool Primary School’s updated strategic plan is to create a clear and efficient way for conveying its goals and vision. A video, with a simple message told by the people who love the school – the students and staff-, has been a great tool in explaining the strategic plan to the school community.

I created this video for Warrnambool Primary School in 2015 and it has been launched on their new website in 2016.

About Warrnambool Primary School from First Ladies – Colleen Hughson on Vimeo.

“Communicating to parents and the wider community is something that all schools work very hard to achieve, especially to a level where parents can easily articulate what is happening in the day to day running of the school. Involving First Ladies in developing the narrative of Warrnambool Primary and to help us tell the story of our new Strategic Plan has helped us enormously in making that become a reality. Colleen’s work exceeded our expectations. She has a knack of accurately depicting our values and bringing out the best in our students. Her work certainly speaks for itself.”

FJ’s Christmas Garden Party 2015

March 15, 2016 // Colleen Hughson // No Comments // Posted in Blog, Community

What a wonderful day of colour, art, music, fashion, family and friends at the FJ’s Christmas Garden Party! It was fantastic to have members of the Jones family in town to witness a modern day Fletcher Jones Gardens Christmas Party and the launch of the Fletcher Jones panel.

I ran around with my video camera and photo camera to capture the day for the Save the Silver Ball and Fletchers Gardens committee and posted this clip the following day on their facebook page.

The modern day Fletcher Jones Garden party and market is an initiative of the south-west arts collective F Project.
